Advent 08

A year on and what a lot has happened!

The leg is great and can dash about all over the place-but at the moment I am on "OBEDIENCE TRAINING!!!!" Shocking punishment for a dog!

I have to walk on a lead AND I am supposed to come back when called (not got that one yet.

The crib scene is interesting - but no dog I notice?

Tosside Van

I told you about the tall ones getting a Caravan- well I am impressed and I have got my favourite spot just in front of the gas fire!

It also has central heating (Joy)

and great seats (Boo) not allowed on those (YET!!!)

Just wait till the tall ones go out!

Turn me on?

I have this new collar attachment that I wear in the dark mornings- would you believe a flashing LED light!

I have been nick-named "Disco Dog"

The thing that worries me most is the effect it is have on me!

If you touch my collar my eyes switch on!

Spooky or not?

Blue Collar Worker

Hi just to let all my readers know that my leg is working fine now!

the vet has signed me off and suggested I start to build up my stamina (the tall ones had neglected to tell him just how much running about I do)

We live in exciting times too , I have it on good authority that the tall ones have purchased a caravan in a place called Tosside (perhaps I will become a "little tosser?")

There will certainly be a lot of sheep about and where there are sheep there is bound to be (you guessed it --- SHEEP POO) my favourite thing.

I will keep you updated on the Caravan thing.

Getting Better

The vet is very pleased with my leg and says I can go on longer walks now (the owners didn't tell him that I already dash about the park after my mates)

The vet also said what a good natured dog I was, that Scotties can sometimes be awkward-cheek!

So on the way out of his surgery I cocked my leg on one of his tables- you don't mess with boys from North of the border

Welsh Water

I visited Wales last week and it is full off places with strange names like Bleanau Ffestiniog?

But even stranger was the water , I might have been my imagination but it tasted decidedly salty- I still had to taste it though I did get an upset stomach (of course that could be down to all the sheep poo I managed to scoff!)

Snozzle Durante

They say Dogs are intelligent!

They do say that

dogs are very intelligent.

One only has to look at my face to see that is a fact.

Alert and awaiting any command or response BUT what I really want to know is what do you do when you have managed to sneak the last of the yogurt in the yogurt pot and it gets stuck? The tall ones fell about laughing , I did not think it was funny at all!

All this and a haircut too!

Just as I was getting over the shock of my leg op (and all the staples in my leg that I could not reach to lick) I have had a hair cut!

I now resemble a Scotty skin-head

Let Me Sleep!

It is the only place I can find that is comfortable so I am really playing the sympathy
card!!!
Lets hear a really BIG
Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Hardly a Leg to Stand On

This Friday I had a section of bone removed from my front leg, that in itself was quite a trauma-BUT worse was to follow-look what they have done to me!
I have got to stay like this till the stitches come out on Wednesday.
The nice vet says hopefully I will be pain free, and my elbow joint will be able to function properly.
It has meant i have had to hop about a lot!

Vets Again!

I had to spend all yesterday at yet another vets! He took lots more x-rays and the to cut a long story short (or my my case my leg) I am going in for an Elbow Op.
I hope I didn't hear correctly but I think they are going to take a piece out of one of my leg bones! The cheeky vet said I had "Queen Anne" legs.
So Friday I go in for the day!
As a special treat I got the bone you can see- BUT what worries me is what dog's leg did this piece of bone come from?

Limp-along-Leslie

Having trouble with my leg at the moment, I keep limping at lot.
I have been to the vets and had some x-rays taken and have been told to take it easy on the walking! As if! I do not slow down for anyone-SO confined to lead for my walks RATS (or in my case squirrels - I hate the pesky little things, esp[ecially when the run up trees!)

I meet my Match!

I finally have to admit it but I met my match this week-end ,in the shape of a puppy called Mackie.
I gather he is some kind of relative?
If you ask me he was relatively over-excited and relatively too energetic! He kept chasing me in my own garden - at times I had to seek refuge by the "Tall Ones"
I tell you I didn't half sleep well after he had gone!
Still I think I will be seeing a lot more of "Young Mackie"

Barking Mad

I have had just enough of those pesky squirrels - so I bark at them through the door and window AND if I ever catch one of the little critters!!!! It will get what the mouse got.
Another thing that has got me going is this hot weather- not too good when you wear a black fur coat like I do.The tall one took pity on me and even TRIED to carry me- but I soom wriggled out of that!

Wizard time in the Park

The family arrived yesterday and wanted to have some pictures taken by the wizard in the park, unfortunately I saw something very interesting and decided to investigate it straight away! Mariella managed to hand on to the lead though-RATS.
But I can do cute little dog if I want to (not very often though)

"Shorn" of the Dead?

As you can see I have had my visit for a shampoo and trim at Dapper dogs !
I can tell you I don't feel too dapper (rather Sean than Whisky)
When asked what cut was required I overheard the "Tall one" reply - "Scruffy Mutt"
So what a week I have had - first I loose my bits and then my hair AND they have discovered I sneak off and sit on the settee (so that's out too now)
It's a dog's life!!!!

White wolf Strikes Again

What a few days I have had, where will it all end?
A visit to the vet who cut some hair off my leg and then gave me in injection.
when I wake up- my ear has been cleaned, my paws have been clipped, an electronic chip has been stuck in me BUT SHOCK HORROR- my testicles have gone. All I have to show is a very itchy region low down and when I went to have a good scratch -someone had stuck a stupid collar round my neck and I could not lick anything.
Things have been getting back to normal until today, as i gave the "White Wolf " a good licking he had a go at me-but I still went back for more (and he got told off)
Today I go to the dog groomers - now that sounds interesting -NOT!!!!

Mouse Hunt

The Thing on the Moors!

At the week-end the "Tall ones" took me onto Caton Moor to look at a wind farm. At first I saw a few cows (quite worrying from my point of view) , there were also a few sheep (tasted their poo before!)BUT as we climbed up a hill these huge white monsters started waving their arms at me, whilst making a wooshing noise, so bravely (I reckon) I gave them a good barking ,then ran away (just to be on the safe side)
The day did have a new delight thought , I caught a mouse AND ate it -before the "Tall ones" could take it off me. I am thinking of trying some Greek food as I have heard they do a Mousesaka? (get it?)

Land of my Father's (I think?)

I thought I would show you all the proof that I did make it to Scotland. As you may know from my beginnings I am not to sure about my father (result of a holiday romance) but I am reliably informed that he was a Scottie SO.....
Still I do worry about the brown patches of hair on my chest- you never know.
I have a friend called Mariella who I licked this morning (she asked me to write this.

Encounters of the dog kind

Life is good every morning I get to dash around like a maniac with a couple of my Friends Charlie and Boots. No matter what the weather I roll in anything I can and I point blank refuse to answer my name until I have had a good play, that really infuriates the "tall one", to cheer him up I then have run after things he throws (quite a long way) AND bring them back! If he is so pleased that I bring them back- why throw them away in the first place?
Humans, I tell you- all they are good for is providing three good meals a day- still its a Dog's life!
AND I do get to play with the grandchildren in the park.

What a few weeks!

I bet you were wondering where I had got too?Actually Scotland (place i felt a great affinity for) we went for a holiday!
BUT the very "tall one" was ill and had to return home(with the rest of us of course)
I only got a few days sniffing round Scotland but it was good. I especially enjoyed the sea shore walks but as the afore said "Tall one" was ill no-one else took any photo's. the enclosed is me exploring a very wild and dangerous forest in Dumfrieshire.

Would you do this to a Dog?

My greatest joy is getting down and getting dirty(it does help when you are as low to the ground as I am) I can quite recommend duck Poo as an interesting scent!
Anyway after acquiring some really good smells from a water Park trip a surprise awaited me on my return home.
Now one thing to say is I have never been allowed to go upstairs in the house (but I did admit to being curious as to what was up there? Well not any more!
I was carried up to a white tiled room and dumped a a pool of disgusting soapy water- all those well acquired smells replaced by shampoo!
I was washed and dried, it took me all afternoon to get over the shock!
so it looks like I will have to search out some new poo with a view to phew(and not shampoo)!!!!

Walked off their feet

We had a walk around the Sale water park at week-end and I mean walk! No car journey ; we had to walk to the park and back. I did manage to avoid falling in this time- but when chasing a jogger, I got a surprise kick (I will be more careful next time)My short legs were tired- but not as tired as the owners- they both fell asleep in the afternoon (they blamed the rugby- but I know better!)
I have discovered a really good thing today, if I bury my pig's ear in the compost heap- then dig it up again it tastes really great, it makes a pig's ear of the kitchen floor too!!!!

Dancing with Wolves-another whisky shot!

Perhaps the title should be dancing with death! I met this wolf in the park (at least I am sure it was) I went over to give it a sniffing and it trod on my head and pinned me down!
The owner of "said wolf" commented " careful it's only a baby!"Cheek of it- I am 4 1/2 months now!
Anyway when we got back , I had to have a shot of Whisky to calm me(I hope you get the joke-shot of whisky?) It's lost on me - but then again I am a dog!

An unexpected dip

A funny thing happened at the water park this week!
I was just giving a local duck a good chasing when I realised I was heading towards the water too quickly!!! A hasty retreat caused my back end and nether regions to fall into the said "water park".
I tell you it is quite a shock to the system (as well as my low slung nether regions)
Tell you what I noticed too - there are more nether regions down there than there used to be!!!

In Wales

I visited wales this week-end and have found somewhere wetter than Sale!
The picture shows me being forced to walk in the rain and on a deserted railway track too! (I was sure a train might still be coming)
I did have one hi-light to report . Sheep Poo! very interesting smell and it tasted quite good too (it freaked the tall ones out and they would not let me finish eating)

I dinna like they birds

I have it on authority that the early years of life can be quite scarey, especially if you are as low to the ground as I am!

The last few months have been quite an experince meeting so many new people, smelling new places and encountering other animals BUT I ask you a bird twice as big as yourself and with such a steely expression -it put me off my food (for at least 5minutes)

Sticking my nose in

One of the things I am very proud about is really sticking my nose in as many places as possible. they say life's a beach- well this week-end I found out that it is!
I got sand up my nose for the trouble -I ask you (and then they laughed at me & took pictures).
At least I got my own back, I bureid one of my lastest joys (pigs ears) under the setee- I bet they will not find that in a hurry.

Meeting Relatives

I got quite a few shocks this week! One day I woke up and went for my usual constitutional and there was all this white stuff on the ground! It is supposed to be called snow- but I tell you it's "snow " joke (get it?) In fact it was extemely cold on my lower bits (which as you may have noticed are very low!

Got a second shock on a trip to the Water Park in Sale! I met some Scotties fron Ireland! I know that sounds a contradiction but one of them said he was Crufts Champion- it might have been a "bit of the blarney" - but he did have muscle , hair and bits the like I have never seen! I was well impressed (especially as I managed a smell or three - now that WAS something to sniff about!)
This champion Chap did have a lady with him- but she was a bit of a bitch (I use the words that the owners used )

Some pictures should follow of this momentous meeting on the next blog!

A Soaking

I thought the weather was bad recently, wind and rain- then flooded parks BUT worse was to follow! I was dumped into the kitchen sink and WASHED! I mean - what can a good dog do? All those lovely smells I had been acumulating have gone in a flash (or it may have been fairy liquid. I must find a good patch of mud tomorrow.

Born Free

Had my first run off the lead today! The large one would insist on running away from me then expecting me to run after him- mean just consider the difference in leg size! I was so shattered when I got back I had to have an immediate lie down.

Morecambe Again!

Travelled up to Morecambe again and didn't I complain, all I was doing was making the point I wanted to see where I was going! Once they obliged and turned my basket (ha! read cage!) round I shut up.

That promenade place is a great place for new smells and interesting places to explore. The air must have got to the owners because we went out three times AND on top of that I get a little garden to run around.

Certainly the sea-side gets my vote over sale at the moment (where it is always raining)

some of the puddles are so deep I am quite worried I might not make it out the other side!

It has caused me to turn to drink again (see the latest!) is it my imagination or are the bottles getting smaller?

It's a Dog's Life

What has been happening to the world just recently? All this wet stuff that comes out of the sky and covers the ground too is getting my nether regions very wet when I go out!

I decided to go on a "go slow" and refuse to move BUT then suffered the indignity of being taken for a drag in the park- is there no end to this torment?

One other interesting thing to note I get to explore the space in the garden by the back door and guess what- if I get caught short and have not time to make it to my newspaper in the house- I get free food (and the large ones get very excited)

Talk about money for old rope (well Poo actually!)

The latest picture shows me after being out for a drag round the park!

I tell you, it's a dog's life!

Out into the Big World

Well I finally made it out into the big world. I took the humans with me for a scamper round a large park at the end of the road.

That was an experience and a half!

Firstly I encountered a grey hound it had legs up to the sky; that , plus the fact it was off so fast I couldn't sniff anything.

This embarrassment continued with a pair of Alsatians who gave me a right sniffing- but I only managed an ankle sniff back!

Before I knew what was happening a huge black Labrador gave me the once over -then he was off at top speed- talk about nothing to sniff at.
Still I managed once round the park, then a second trip round when the Grandchildren arrived (at least I can LEAD them astray) That is a Doggy Joke!

Slept under His chair for most of the evening, I was rathered tired -not sure why?

Double My Weight

Went to the vets again last week, this time it was a lady and she was offering free food! All I had to do was lie down when she said- a bit of an imposition, but worth it for the food.

There has been a lot of that sort of stuff going on, do you know i have to sit AND wait for my food! It's a dog's life I tell you.

I thought you might like the latest picture, by the time the camera had appeared I had scoffed the lot! Puppy Power!

Q. What do you get when you cross a dog and a phone?

A..... a golden receiver!

Must go - I am learning to be dragged round on a lead today(should be fun..not!)

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all my readers I really saw the New Year in Style (see picture)

Getting about must faster now, I am able to grab the odd interesting item and then shoot off into a corner to give it a good chew!

Christmas decorations are a good example, the baubles tug off the tree quite easily and wrapping paper is quite satisfying when you give it a good chew.

Shoes are still my all time favourite nibble (I think I might start a book on "Whose Shoe?")

Still not been out for a walk yet(awaiting my "second injection"- sounds interesting)

Q: Why did the poor dog chase his own tail?A: He was trying to make both ends meet!

Woof woof
